Brain Coral
Lobophyllia corymbosa
The Brain Coral is a large polyp stony (LPS) coral often referred to as a the open brain Coral. It comes in many stunning colour morphs and shapes. They are a beautiful coral that require low to moderate maintenance.
It is a solitary coral that doesn’t fare well when fighting other corals, so a generous space should be provided for its nocturnal sweeping polyps.. It will do best at the bottom of a reef aquarium, preferably lying on a fine sandy substrate. It requires moderate to bright lighting combined with moderate water movement within the aquarium. For continued good health, it will also require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.
It is ideal to feed brain Corals a few times per week at night with brine shrimp, or micro-plankton.
Due to variations within each species, your aquatic life may not look identical to the image provided.
