Aquacultured Torch Coral

Euphyllia Glabrescens

The Torch Coral is a large polyp stony (LPS) coral often referred to as a trumpet Coral. It has long flowing polyps that give it an appearance like an anemone. They are a beautiful coral that require moderate maintenance.

It is a solitary, aggressive coral that will sting other corals it comes into contact with. With placement in the aquarium, keep in mind that its polyps can sweep out up to 10cm from the base, so a safe diameter should be provided. It will do best at the bottom to middle of a reef aquarium, preferably lying on a fine sandy substrate. It requires moderate to bright lighting combined with moderate water movement within the aquarium. For continued good health, it will also require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.

It is ideal to feed Euphyllia Corals a few times per week with brine shrimp, and small chopped meaty foods.
