Green star Polyps
Pachyclavularia spp.
The Green Star Polyps are colonial animals, with several heads attached to live rock. They do not have the ability to sting other corals and are only able to retract when threatened, they will spread rapidly encrusting all nearby rockwork. They will not harm other colonies placed near them. Green star polyps are an easy to keep and vibrant coloured coral and are suitable for beginners and experienced aquarists alike. The Green Star polyps require medium to strong light and a medium to strong water flow.
The Green Star will reproduce readily in a healthy environment; this can be helped by using additives such as iodine and other trace elements. Experianced aquarists will be able to frag this coral by taking a cutting from their encrusting base and attaching it to a piece of live rock.
