Cherry Barb
Barbus Titteya
Cherry barbs are a very easy to keep, peaceful fish, it is an active schooling fish from slow moving streams in Sri Lanka and as such should be kept in groups of six or more.
The Cherry Barb requires a tank of at least 120 litres or more with slightly acidic to neutral water, they like a heavily planted tank, with floating plants and subtle lighting, with sparse ornaments to allow plenty of swim room. This fish is peaceful and even timid, and can become nervous around very active tank mates so it is best kept alongside other peaceful and non aggressive species.
The Cherry Barb will accept flake foods, but meaty foods like bloodworm and brine shrimp should be offered sporadically to ensure a healthy diet.
