Denison Barb
Barbus denisonii
The Denison Barb or Torpedo barb has a more elongated body than other barb, unlike some other barbs they are a good community fish
They prefer a well-planted tank of at least 200 litre with soft, slightly acidic water. Rocks and driftwood can be added to the aquarium, but leave plenty of space for swimming. The Denison Barb is a very active fish so it will require plenty of open space to swim. Denison barbs are found in fast moving rivers in the wild and are used to strong currents and high oxygen, with this in mind the addition of air stones, and power heads would be advisable
The Denison Barb needs to be fed a variety of foods including vegetables as well as meaty foods. Feed a quality flake food as well as live and frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms.
