The Pink Kissing Gourami also known as the Kisser Fish, are generally a peaceful species but gets its name form the males that engage each other by pressing their lips against each other in challenges for dominance. They are a silvery-peach colour, there are no distinguishing characteristics between the male and female, although the female is usually lager than the male. They breathe from the surface, known as Labyrinth Fish, so will there for need access to the surface of the tank.
Pink Kissing Gourami have a tendency to eat the majority of vegetation with the exception of the Java fern and java moss with it bitter taste. The Pink Kissing Gourami is very tolerant of other fish and its own species if kept in pairs, should not be kept with large, aggressive fish. A tanks of at least 70litters, kept in a relatively quiet area with little noise, with regular water changes and good filtration.
The pink kissing Gourami does not build a bubble nest like many other Gourami, rather vegetation should be placed on the top of the tank and the eggs will float to the surface where they will grow and hatch.Pink Kissing Gourami are omnivore and will eat both algae and meaty based foods. An algae-based flake food, along with freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, and brine shrimp will provide these fish with the proper nutrition.
