Emerald Dwarf Rasbora
Microrasbora erythromicron
The Emerald Dwarf Rasbora, also known as the cross-banded or emerald eye dwarf rasbora, these fish have purple hue with vertical stripes that run along the body. Males of this species are smaller than the females and tend to be more colorful.
The Emerald Dwarf Rasbora requires a well-established planted aquarium with superior water quality and stable water conditions. This species is compatible with other peaceful fish as well as others of its own species.
This Rasbora requires a warm, densely-planted breeding tank in order to spawn. After spawning, the water level should be reduced to around six inches. After the eggs hatch, usually in 36 hours, the fry will require live foods such as newly-hatched brine shrimp.
An omnivore, The Emerald Dwarf Rasbora do well on a diet of prepared flake food, as well as freeze-dried bloodworms and tubifex.
