Gold Tetra

Hemigrammus rodwayi

The Gold tetra originates from South America; it makes a wonderful addition to any community aquarium. Hiding places like live plants, rocks and driftwood help to enhance its natural habitat and offer a feeling of security for the fish. It is a mid level swimmer and is a very active fish.

They prefer a planted tank of at least 50 litres with soft, slightly acidic water. Rocks and driftwood can be added to the aquarium, but leave plenty of space for swimming.

The Gold tetra needs to be fed a variety of foods including vegetables as well as meaty foods. Feed a quality flake food as well as live and frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms.
