Golden Tench

Tinca tinca

The Tench is Common in the south east of England, but will survive anywhere in the UK. The Tench is a hardy fish pond fish, which likes deep muddy ponds with weeds and can survive in low oxygen environments.

The ideal habitat for the Tench is a pond of at least 500 gallons. Adequate filtration should be provided in order to maintain proper water conditions.

Tench mainly feed of worms and larvae on the bottom of the pond, but will eat any foods that sink to the bottom.

Before adding your new fish to your pond, we highly recommend quarantining them for two weeks. This will allow you to observe and condition the new fish before introducing them into the display pond
