Mirror Carp
Cyprinus carpio
Mirror carp are Common hardy fish; they are fast growing and suited to English climates. Carp will thrive in ponds, lakes and slow moving rivers with plenty of weeds and reed beds.
The ideal habitat for Carp is a pond of at least 500 gallons. Adequate filtration should be provided in order to maintain proper water conditions. Carp are a good fish to stop reed beds from imposing into a pond as they will dig up the roots looking for food.
Carp are omnivorous and will feed on anything from invertebrates to algae on the surface of the water and off of the bottom.
Before adding your new fish to your pond, we highly recommend quarantining them for two weeks. This will allow you to observe and condition the new fish before introducing them into the display pond
