An ideal setup for Koi is a 800+ gallon pond which roughly equates to less than 2metres x 2metres x 1 metre, with a fine gravel substrate, rocks, and hardy plants. You will also need to provide adequate filtration to maintain proper water conditions.
Feed Koi a quality pellet or flake food high in protein in the summer, and wheat germ feed which is low in protein through the winter.
Before adding your new fish to your pond, we highly recommend quarantining them for two weeks. This will allow you to observe and condition the new fish before introducing them into the display pond.
