The Moorish Idol is a stunning, popular but hard to keep marine fish. The problems arise with this fish in getting them to feed; they can be kept in groups if introduced simultaneously, they require a lot of swimming space.
It requires a tank of 400 litres or more with plenty of rock work to graze on to stimulate feeding and hiding places for when startled. The Moorish idol is reef compatible but may pick at sponges and soft polyps, their natural food source. The Moorish idol is a fussy eater so it should be fed a varied diet until you find something that it will readily eat
