Kaudern's Cardinal
Pterapogon kauderni
The Kaudern's Cardinal, or Bangai cardinal fish is one of the elegant of all the marine fish as it glides around the tank effortlessly. These fish can be kept in groups in a large enough aquarium, but if the aquarium is too small a pair will materialize and will become aggressive towards the rest.
The Kaudern's cardinal requires a tank of 90 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places. The spotted cardinal is reef safe and will not touch any corals or shrimps. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but should be supplemented with meaty foods like brine shrimp and crustacean flesh. The Kaudern's cardinal is a mouth brooder and it isn't uncommon to see them breeding in an established aquarium.
