Black Percula Clownfish
Amphiprion Percula
The Black Percula Clownfish is one of the least common species of clownfish caught in the wild, it is a fairly resilient fish. Best kept individually or in a mated pair, as they tend to be aggressive towards each other and other clownfish.
The Black Percula clownfish requires a tank of 90 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places. The Black Percula clown is reef safe and will not eat any corals or shrimps but may host in some corals damaging their polyps. The wild caught Black Percula will host in some anemones in captivity but is happy without an anemone, they are known to host in toadstool corals. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but should be supplemented with meaty foods like brine shrimp and crustacean flesh.
