Tank Bred Percula Clown
Amphiprion Percula
The Percula Clownfish is often confused with the common ocellaris clownfish, the main difference is that the white bars of the body tend to be etched in black, it is a fairly resilient fish. Best kept individually or in a mated pair, as they tend to be aggressive towards each other and other clownfish.
The Percula clownfish requires a tank of 90 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places. The Percula clown is reef safe and will not eat any corals or shrimps but may host in some corals damaging their polyps. The wild caught Percula will host in some anemones in captivity but is happy. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but should be supplemented with meaty foods like brine shrimp and crustacean flesh.
