Three Stripe Damselfish
Dascyllus aruanus
The three striped Damselfish is a great fish for beginners as it is hardy. Best kept in pairs or as sole adults when adults in a relatively aggressive aquarium as they become increasingly aggressive, as juveniles they can e kept in schools with few problems.
The three stripe Damselfish requires a tank of 90 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places. Juvenile three stripe Damselfish are reef safe and will not eat any corals or shrimps, adults may eat shrimps after molting. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but should be supplemented with meaty foods like brine shrimp and crustacean flesh as well as herbivorous foods like Nori.
