Scissortail Dartfish
Ptereleotris evides
The Scissortail Goby is one of the most eye catching and unique looking fish making it popular to both the experienced and beginner aquarist alike. Best kept individually, since it can be territorial with its own kind, and similar species.
It requires a tank of 120 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places, coral rubble and a sandy bottom. It is peaceful with most other fish. The scissor tail is reef compatible showing no interest in corals or shrimps. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but benefit from the addition of some vegetable material like Nori.
These fish are jumpers so a tight fitting lid is required
