Green Mandarin
Synchiropus splendidus
The Green Mandarin is one of the most eye catching of all marine fish making it popular to aquarists, it is only recommended for mature tanks however as it can be difficult to get to feed on ready made foods. Multiple specimens can be kept together, if there is enough live rock to support their eating habits, since it can be territorial with its own kind, and similar species.
It requires a tank of 150 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places and live rock to feed off. Does well in a reef aquarium and doesn't bother corals or crustaceans. They don't adapt well to prepared foods but some will eat brine shrimp and black worms. They are not aggressive eaters and will be out competed by more veracious feeders
