Flameback Angelfish

Centropyge acanthops

The Flame back Angelfish is one of the smallest of the entire centropyge genus typically reaching only 8 cm and is an interesting and less common addition to the marine aquarium. Best kept individually, since it can be territorial with its own kind, and similar species.

It requires a tank of 100 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places. Most dwarf angels are algal grazers, but also eat small non-sessile invertebrates, like brine shrimp and mysis. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but benefit from the addition of some vegetable material like Nori.

Approximate Purchase Size: Medium 2cm - 4cm
