The Snowflake eel is one of the most interesting, active and easy to keep of all marine eels making it popular to beginners and experienced aquarists alike. Multiple specimens can be kept together if introduced simultaneously.

It requires a tank of 200 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places and a firmly attached lid as they are known to escape. Does Ok in a reef aquarium and doesn't bother corals, but can topple them over if not firmly attached to the rockwork, but will eat crustaceans and small fish. They don't adapt well to frozen foods and can be hand fed with a feeding stick.
