Longnose Hawkfish
Oxycirrhites Typus
The Long nose hawkfish is the best suited of its species for small reef. This fish does best with other less aggressive tank mates they can be kept in male female pairs if introduced together, it will be beaten by other hawkfish
A 90 litre or larger aquarium, either fish-only or reef, with plenty of overhangs and caves to hide in should be provided. The long nose hawk is reef compatible, but mat eat small fish and shrimps when it is fully grown. These fish do like to jump, so a tight fitting canopy is required.
When first introduced into the aquarium, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be used to entice this fish to eat. The diet of this hawkfish should include a variety of feeder shrimps, flaked foods, and marine meats.
