Red Hawkfish
Cyprinocirrites polyactus
The Red Hawk fish, also known as the lyre tail hawk fish is a peaceful and hardy addition to a marine tank. Multiple specimens can be housed if introduced simultaneously.
It requires a tank of 80 litres or larger with plenty of hiding places. The red hawk fish will spend most of its time sitting on the aquarium floor waiting for passing food, if the tank has high water flow it will hover in the column facing the tide. The red hawkish isn’t a threat to corals, but may eat small shrimps, it will sometimes hide under the tentacles of anemones and LPS corals. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but benefit from the addition of some carnivores material like Brine shrimp or shellfish.
