French Angelfish

Pomacanthus paru

The French Angelfish is one of the most popular angel fish in the Caribbean making it a popular addition the experienced aquarist. Best kept individually, since it can be territorial with its own kind.

It requires a tank of 400 litres or larger with plenty of rock work. The adult queen is not truly reef compatible as it will sometimes eat sponges and corals. Juveniles usually adapt to frozen and even dried foods, but are cleaners by nature and may bother smaller slower moving fish. The adult queen will become dominant so should be the only large fish in an aquarium
