Powder Blue Tang
Acanthurus leucosternon
The Powder Blue Tang is popular with beginner and experienced aquarists alike due to its light blue colouring and Yellow markings. Can be kept in groups when younger but should be housed individually when older unless in a large aquarium of 600 litres. This fish is quite prone to white spot so a quarantine tank is a must.
It requires a tank of 400 litres or larger with plenty open water for it to swim in and live rock to graze on. Tangs will eat meaty foods, but should also be supplemented with vegetarian matter like Nori to keep them healthy. They usually adapt well to frozen and even dried foods, but benefit from the addition of some vegetable material like Nori
Approximate Purchase Size: Medium 4cm - 6cm, Large 8cm - 10cm
