Purplehead Parrot Wrasse

Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura

The Purple head parrot Wrasse is a beautiful reef fish that has dazzling colour patterns, the colouration and pattern will vary dependant on where the fish originated, and their mood. This fish does best with other less aggressive tank mates; they can be kept in groups with a solitary male, or individualy

A 200 litre or larger aquarium, either fish-only or reef, with plenty of overhangs and caves to hide in. The purple head parrot wrasse will not bother fish or invertebrates, making them a perfect addition to any reef aquarium. These fish do like to jump, so a tight fitting canopy is required.

When first introduced into the aquarium, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be used to entice this fish to eat. The diet of this wrasse should include a variety of feeder shrimps, flaked foods, and marine meats.
