Tube Anemone

Cerianthus sp.

The Tube Anemone is also referred to as the Worm Anemone, and is best kept in a reef or species-only aquarium with a deep sand substrate. Their coloration is highly variable and can range from tan, pink, and purple or even have shades of fluorescent green.

The ideal aquarium for the Tube Anemone is one with a deep sand bed and plenty of live rock. They are non-photosynthetic and do not require intense lighting. If keeping one in a reef setup be wary of its placement as it can seriously damage nearby corals or clams with its stinging tentacles.

Because they are not photosynthetic, they need to be fed regularly when it is fully expanded. Feed small frozen foods such as brine shrimp; don’t feed any medium to large foods as it may damage their thin tentacles
