Flame Scallop
Lima scabra
The Flame Scallop is a brightly coloured shellfish with long extending red tentacles; it is relatively low maintenance and only requires the addition of phytoplankton. Multiple specimens can be housed together in large aquariums.
It requires a tank of 30 litres or larger with plenty of rockwork to hide in as it will seek out shelter from bright lights. The flame scallop is reef compatible and a bright addition to any tank.
The flame scallop, like all inverts is intolerant to any copper based medications
