Blood Red Fire Shrimp
Lysmata debelius
The Fire Shrimp is widely regarded as the best looking of the cleaner shrimps. It isn't as active during the day as other cleaners unless in dimly lit tank. Multiple specimens can be housed together in large aquariums.
It requires a tank of 30 litres or larger with plenty of rockwork to hide in when molting. The fire shrimp is reef compatible and a good addition as it will scavenge any leftover food stuffs and clean off any parasites and debris from fish. It is so valued by marine fish some large fish allow it inside their mouths to clean without eating them.
The fire shrimp, like all inverts is intolerant to any copper based medications
