The Tiger pistol Shrimp is also known as the symbiosis shrimp as it will pair up with shrimp gobies. Multiple specimens can be housed together in larger aquariums, they will survive a lot longer if paired up with a goby.
It requires a tank of 30 litres or larger with plenty of rockwork and sand/gravel to live under, the pistol shrimp is actually a good sand sifter as it forages for leftovers. The pistol shrimp is reef compatible and a good addition as it will scavenge any leftover food stuffs. The pistol shrimp will pair up with shrimp gobies, sharing a cave and each others food.
The Pistol shrimp, like all inverts is intolerant to any copper based medications
